Website requirements analysis

If you know you need a web presence but aren’t sure exactly what you want from your site, we can discuss the options with you in non-technical terms, helping you identify the target audience of your website and any particular needs they might have. The result of this process is a ‘website specification’ which provides a strong basis on which to start building the site.

Design

We create clean, accessible websites that are custom made to meet the requirements of you and your target audience. Based in the Uists, we visit clients at their business to interview them and obtain accurate details of what they need. Digital pictures, to make your site visually attractive, can either be taken by us or supplied by you. Finally, all your content will be proofread for a polished finish.

Online publicity

A website is no use if your target audience or market do not view and use it. We can increase the profile of your website by publicising it online. In a professional manner, we will submit it to the leading search engines and to relevant mailing lists, newsgroups and online media services. We will also arrange links from other websites and online services visited by your target audience.

Online income generation

Increasingly, individuals, groups and businesses are establishing income streams through online services. These include online shops, advertising, donations and other payment systems. What’s best for your initiative? We can advise.

Ongoing maintenance

Ongoing maintenance is essential to keep your site as fresh and relevant as the day it was created. We are happy to do this for you, updating your site on a regular or occasional basis. Or, if you prefer, we will produce non-technical documentation on how to edit the site so you can take over maintenance yourself. What we will not do is leave you “high and dry” with an old website and no means of updating it.

Presentations

“Have laptop, will travel.” We do presentations to groups and individuals across the Uists in the following areas:

  • Things to consider when you want your first website.
  • Maintaining and operating a local or group website.
  • Web 2.0, Bebo, blogs, MySpace, Flickr, Facebook and YouTube - what does it all mean?
  • No ifs or buts: why you should get broadband, and get it now.
